Leslie Stein, formerly a Captain and helicopter pilot in the United States Army has more than 11 years of management and leadership experience in a variety of challenging environments. While on active duty, she deployed to Kosovo and Macedonia in support of Task Force Falcon and Operation Joint Guardian. She also spent 18 months in South Korea supporting operations throughout the region, including missions along the demilitarized zone (DMZ).

Since leaving the army she has worked in several demanding disciplines including producing local TV news, membership sales, and project management in the non-profit community of Washington, DC. Additionally, she has worked with companies across the US as a trainer and facilitator focusing on process improvement, teaching facilitation skills, and enhancing communication among team members. Leslie's work has allowed her to pursue training in a variety of disciplines, heavily focusing on communication styles in the workplace, behavior analysis, and Lean Management in an office environment. Her training includes DiSC Facilitation Certification, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Assessment Qualification, Lean for the Office at University of Michigan, and The Effective Facilitator course.

Leslie holds a B.S. in Portuguese from the U. S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. She received her coaches training at The Coaches Training Institute (CTI), which focuses on the Co-Active coaching model. --The Effective Facilitator
--Masterful Meetings
--The Seven Separators

In her spare time, Leslie heads up two fun projects she can't get enough of. One is The Penny Project, which is all about valuing the little things in life and bringing them together to create BIG things! You can read about her adventures collecting unwanted pennies (over $500 so far!) at www.the-pretty-penny.blogspot.com. You won't be able to stop looking for pennies after you hear about the project!

Her other project is called Lead Like a Girl, which is all about honoring the natural leadership strengths of women. She's gathering humorous essays & profiling women doing amazing things in their work, families and communities on her blog (www.leadlikeagirl.blogspot.com.) She loves hearing from women out there with ideas about leadership, so stop by and vote in the polls or leave a message about what you think it means to lead like a girl!

Leslie's experience, can-do attitude, and attention to detail make her a perfect fit for the Adventure Training Concepts Operations/Behavior Analysis team.
